On-device data

Your routines, schedules, app selections, focus history, and settings are stored on your device. Think Tank does not upload this information to our servers.

Focus score

Your focus score combines progress towards your personal daily goal (50 points), follow-through on committed focus time (30 points), and goal completion on planned focus days in the previous seven completed calendar days (20 points). The app stores goal revisions, commitments, protection intervals, and breaks locally in the container shared with its Screen Time monitor extension.

Only new sessions with a valid blocking selection and observed Screen Time authorisation contribute to the score. A protected session is not proof of concentration, and the score does not measure productivity or use your total screen time, pickups, or Apple Health data. Planned focus days show the points earned so far, starting at zero for a new user. Missing components remain pending and contribute no points until assessed; their weights are not redistributed. Rest days have no overall score. Onboarding explains the score before asking for a daily goal and focus days. Session duration is chosen when starting a session. Your first plan starts on the day you finish setup, provided there is no existing focus history or plan to preserve. Later changes, including changes made when replaying onboarding, take effect the next day and do not rewrite earlier goals.

Commitments preserve their original time windows, excluding pre-planned schedule breaks. Ending early or taking an unplanned break does not erase committed time. Manual commitments are assessed when they end; scheduled commitments are assessed at their deadline or when ended early. Overnight commitments are assessed on their ending day (an exact midnight deadline belongs to the preceding day), while goal progress is split at local midnight. Overlapping protection counts only once.

Existing history and earned aquarium creatures are retained, but legacy sessions without blocking evidence are not retroactively used for the new score. Aquarium milestones remain separate from the score.

Screen Time

Screen Time access is used to block apps you select and show app-usage statistics. Apple provides app selections as private tokens. Think Tank processes this information on your device and does not transmit it.

Retention and deletion

On-device data remains until you choose Erase All Data in Settings or uninstall Think Tank. Erasing removes routines, schedules, focus history, commitments, goal plans, and aquarium progress from the device.

Your controls

You can revoke Screen Time access and notification access in Settings, and erase local data from Think Tank's Settings screen.
